While the synastry chart looks at where both parties’ natal charts intersect, the composite chart is a separate chart composed using the midpoints between both parties’ charts. It creates a whole new chart that represents the relationship as a unit, a third entity, rather than looking at individual traits. This is why it’s best to be more established within the relationship before looking at the composite chart as naturally, it takes time for two people to start to work and function as one.
